Is Search and Replace a proper way to get rid of unwanted element?

Hi,
I have a feed in which the SKU field contains an unnecessary "sku", as in "sku8372".
I can use search and replace to get rid of it by leaving the field blank. I just want to see if it's a recommended way of doing it. Thanks.

That's fine! Search and Replace filter with "sku" in the Search box and Replace box empty.
