Hi Corny,

As Price Tapestry is designed for the affiliate model as you're aware it doesn't include any concept of a "merchant area" as ordinarily you wouldn't have any direct relationships with the merchants. Bear with me and I'll look into the least intrusive way to add a merchant login page for you so that they can see the Clicks count for just their feed...

Cheers,
David.

hi david,

i asked for a merchant area last year.
would you be so kindly and send me this feature too?

best of it would be too if merchants could upload their products by themselves.

regards

Hi David

I'd also like this script if you still have it or just a starting point towards a merchant login page.

Thanks

Jacques

Hello Jacques,

Thank you for your "vote"; I need to think carefully about this as the script isn't really designed for merchant access at all as it is intended for use with affiliate product feeds for which there is normally no merchant relationship required; but I realise that people are starting to use Price Tapestry more and more in markets in which affiliate marketing is not as mature as other countries and would be very interested in doing this; so I will look into the implications / requirements.

Cheers,
David.

Hi David,

Any merchant login should be permission based, example: only allow a merchant to review stats and/or enter in promotional codes/vouchers, etc. - The latter we would be interested in.

Thanks for continuously improving PT...

Hi David
Any news about merchant access...? somehting which can give them stats or allow mercahnt to purchase subscription and manage feeds URL etc?

Submitted by Bakalinge on Tue, 2013-10-08 00:17

Hi everybody,

I agree with the fact that PT needs a merchant area (and maybe we could share our ideas on this, because the merchant can easily get this information with Google Analytics), and also some other plugins that I don't ask because it would probably require a lot of work to David. It's none of my business, but I would easily accept to pay to get this plugins, especially because David is doing an amazing job for all of us. And also because it could help PT to become better and better...

What do you think ?

Bak

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your comments. I am receiving an increasing number of enquiries regarding this as e-commerce takes off in countries where perhaps affiliate marketing itself is not yet so well developed. My current plan is for an update to Price Tapestry around 14/01 so I'll look into a parallel product to accompany the next distribution.

Cheers,
David.

Hi fstore,

I'm currently working on the WordPress importer which I am hoping to launch next month, but I am looking into the feasibility and requirements of this. Could you perhaps summarise what you would like to see provided in a "merchant area"?

Considering that Price Tapestry is feed rather than "per product" based, any merchant with which you would have a relationship should have the capability to produce a feed - which would then be handled by Price Tapestry in the normal way (there's no reason for Buy URLs to go via an affiliate network or indeed any affiliate program at all) and commercial arrangements are of course totally up to the site operator / merchant - which presumably means that a merchant area would be more about stats?

Would a basic starting point simply be the capability to create a login, and then associate one or more feeds with that login enabling that user to view clicks (day/week/month) for those feeds?

Thanks,
David.

im also very interested in this since i only have 5 affilliate feeds from the 120 merchants on my website ( i scrap their website for products)
and since you asked about features here goes the things i would like to see in a merchant area

1.click stats by day/week/month
2.product stats for the most searched/viewed products
3.feed management tool that would have the automation tool and the slow import tool
4.voucher tool to add/edit/delete voucher codes
5.merchant logo manager to allow merchants to change their logo
6.new product suggestion (in case a product is missing from the product mapping). and in admin area just aprove and add alternates etc...
7.banner manager

i was gonna suggest product mapping tool but i think thats a bit too much (it would be almost like converting the admin area to merchant area...maybe by add a page on admin to add/edit/delete wich tools a merchant can access)

these are just ideas though :)

ps: json importer tool for APIs

Hi David.

I hope you are doing great today. It is about time for my website to have this feature (merchant page login). It has been long since you discuss about this feature. did you find the solution or is it considered in up coming version?

Hello Matabish,

A merchant area is an extremely significant project in its own right and as you know Price Tapestry is from the ground up intended to work with affiliate product feeds which by definition have been obtained through an affiliate network / management program so I'm afraid It's not something that I'm planning to develop or incorporate at this time

Cheers,
David.
