Customer Comments and Site Links
Hi everyone,
I'm afraid I had to remove the previous "Show off your site" thread as it's high page-rank meant that I was getting a lot of people posting links to non-Price Tapestry sites. Now that I have moderation on the forum system I can make sure this doesn't happen - so if you would like to post any comments or links to your Price Tapestry powered sites please go ahead...!
Use this reply link as it will make it easier to moderate posts...
Cheers,
David.
My site www.buy24-7.net has been going for about a year now, although thanks to www.pricetapestrytemplates.com I was able to give the site a little facelift recently, I've spent a lot of time editing and filtering feeds to improve the number of sites comparing prices eg. the Sharp LC46XD1E TV has 17 store comparison pages.
I must thank David for all his hard work on the script and for all the help through the forum! Price Tapestry is a Script I can't recommend highly Enough!
My (not so typical implementation of price tapestry as a rewards comparison tool rather than a price comparison one) - RewardsDB.com
My first Price Tapestry site compares UK video game prices...here it is...

Hello,
This is my latest PT offering! I have managed to seamlessly integrate amazon search results and the site makes extensive use of caching.

The Big Business Directory (www.the-big-business-directory.co.uk) is a directory of businesses in the UK and uses Price Tapestry in the Online shopping section (www.the-big-business-directory.co.uk/online_shopping/). This is the best system I have come across and I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially coupled to the support you get and unlimited free customisation via the Support Forum.
Thanks David for all your hard work!

Shop.MultiZ.com - Electronics Price Comparison Shopping
This is a collection of a few US electronic retailers, and they're compared using MPN.
I would like to show off my new and highly modified site, which uses this fantastic script. Have a look at Produktsuche, which is part of my shopping site.
Find All Sorts is a price comparison site I built to showcase loads of products and compare prices in as simple a way as possible for the user.
Price Comparison Site
My favourite feature is the find by price range, where users can enter an amount they wish to spend on a product along with a keyword, to find things at the right price. Useful when looking for products such as electronic goods that can vary in price enormously and you just want to see the ones you can afford, rather than wade through entire product ranges.
The price tapestry script has been great and very adaptable, it can really do alot and makes comparing prices in all sorts of ways easy!
Find All Sorts has several sections, with 2 main price tapestry installations, one is for UK price comparison shopping and the other for USA price comparison shopping . Where you can find products by brand, by store and by product name/keyword. Also each section has detailed categories, achieved by installing price tapestry in separate sub folders for each pre defined category.
So all in all, Find All Sorts gives visitors lots of option to find and compare prices of many products, in what is hopefully a very simple and easy to use layout.
Hi David,
I know I'm repeating a lot of people's comments when I say 'thanks for the great script', but I'll say it anyway!
Thought I'd post up a couple of sites that I have created using the PT script that are slightly different from what we've seen posted here before.
First off is a Mobile Phone comparison web site. Hardly the most niche of sites but something I've wanted to do so I just did it! This is the most I have expanded on the basic PT script so I thought I'd put it here. The site is mobilewiz and, if you couldn't guess, is a mobile phone handset/tariff comparison site.
The second site is one which I don't think I've seen posted on here before, a single merchant site. This is basically just an alternative front end to an existing merchant's site and therefore just relies on a single product feed and has none of the 'price comparison' specific pages. This is probably the sort of thing to go for for those niche areas. This isn't particularly that niche but again, it's something that I wanted to do. Anyway, it's a bicycle/bicycle part and accessories site - Cyclez
Hope these give you some more ideas of what can be achieved with this great script.
Cheers.

Here's my second Price Tapestry site (www.washeranddryer.co.uk) to compare washing machines, washer dryers and tumble dryers.
I've added a blog to the backend to make it easy to publish news, vouchers, latest offers etc. Hopefully the search engines will like this extra content!

Hello,
In this site I have started by using the PT backend to manage the merchants and feeds as per a normal PT script. The front has been totally re-built to accommodate mobile specific content. Still working on it, but seems to be stable and working.
Any comment welcome!
Thanks,
Simon.
Hello,
Would you use this site?
http://www.wardrobe-workout.co.uk/
What do you think of:
Colours?
Design?
Navigation?
Does it feel trustworthy?
If you were looking for clothes online would you linger or quickly go elsewhere?
All feedback gratefully received.
Thanks :-)

Hi all,
It's my first site:
Fiyat karşılaştırma ve arama motoru
I like it but I would say that :-)
I would try and offer some sort of incentive to get people to sign up to your mailing list. A 4 page pdf ebook or something similar that is relevant.
You may also want to look at adding some sort of reviews or blog section, to get some sticky content on your site.
I have a cycling and outdoor gear search on my site. It's been online for about a year. I haven't had much time to work on it and it's far from what I'd like to do but it's doing pretty well.
and here is my site:
price comparison shopping
I actually do datafeed campaign management and use this Price Tapestry to showcase my client's feeds and get them some free traffic. Third party templates are awesome.
Hi David - its really amazing script - saves a lot of time and if you know how to modify it you can make everything very easy - very good programming.
I am still working on my discount codes web site here: Discount codes from UK shops.
Cheers for this great job. The script is worth the money!
I have just put up a new price tapestry price comparison site for Hair & Beauty Christmas Gifts. Still loving price tapestry! And in the case of beauty products with all the millions of beauty product brands, I was very glad of the thread on caching the brands and categories for this project! Thanks for all your help David!
I've recently setup Adrenaline Junkie World, a price comparison site for experience days focusing on the more fun stuff - driving days, bungee jumping, sky diving etc.
First I must say this is such a fantastic script and support is phenomenal.
Here's my latest site
Similar url to another site on here using PT, but in my defense I will say my site name was registered first and I have been working on this for the last few months :). Should have got that domain while I had a chance, but there is room for us all :)
Still a good bit of work to be done on the site, shouldn't make too many waves this Christmas but hopefully everything will be indexed and setup for 2008.
Please let me know what you think, any bugs, anything which could be done better??
Again, many thanks David for all your help.
Cheers
Adrian
My latest site using Laterooms API and Magic Parser
I still need to do some "featured hotels" for the front page, other than that it is complete and bug free! Any comments are welcome!

Sorry, missed you reply link!
I'm now working on uk boating holidays
Hi David,
For years I have been trying to make money on the Internet, and was doing quite well with google adsense on my content web sites, until google suddenly decided to de-rank my pages, (I guess they didn't like paying me too much!), So I decided to go back to my shopping affiliate programs and try these instead.
Having previously failed miserably in the past with affiliate web sites, I thought I would give it a try again after stumbling accross your fantastic script, and I've got to say how impressed I am with the results I am now getting with my sites.
One site inparticular is shopperquest.co.uk, and this gave me the idea to change some of my old content sites into price comparison sites instead, and although slowly, they are starting to pay off.
I have about 56 domains and I will gradually (through the year) start to convert them all, so far I have converted the folowing sites, using your great script and the pricetapestry template (customised slightly) from your recommended 3rd party:
Shopperquest Europe
Giftmoz USA
PrintMoz
DiyMoz
All the above are all still being improved and more product feeds are being added.
There are many more to come, I have some great niche idea's too!
Thanks so much for this script, it is well worth it, and worth purchasing the templates too!
Chris
My First attempt at a price comparison site. Currently has around 708,000 products.
Used quite a lot of mods mentioned on this site. Main ones include the merchant logos, open links in new windows, Brand filter, brand and category links and various posts about removing HTML from product feeds.
Developed a "widget" to show 3 books from Amazon on each product page - mainly using old code I had lying around from an old site. Also manually created an Amazon feed with about 60 products. Created a script to update the prices once a day.
One thing I would say is that I got chucked off one host who objected to me trying to import a 20,000 line product feed. Now hosted on somebody elses dedicated server and only import the bigger feeds (anything above 10k) once a week in the early hours of the morning.
I have just launched a site using Price Tapestry. Please check it out: iPod Prices.
Lots of custom stuff :)

Hey everybody,
Nice to be here.
This is my first site created with PT, Compare Shoes Prices.
Thanks David, very cool script :)

It's a tribute to the support from David that as someone who had never written any PHP cod before I was able to modify PT to make my prescription drug price comparison site
It only has a few merchants on it so far but I thought I'd make it go live anyway. The tailoring things that David or this forum has helped with include:
- price comparison in base currency but price display in base and selling currency
- merchant images on prices screen that are "Buy" links
- adding new database fields
- finding best value by sorting on price per unit quantity
Despite my fragile ego, I should like to invite people to provide constructive feedback on the site, by using the site feedback form. All suggestions gratefully received!
Kind regards
Alastair
I am so impressed with the Price Tapestry script and what it has done for The Big Business Directory that I have created a new site based solely on using IAAI Software's products.
David, you are a star!

Hi Coyote,
Some users are working with a modified version of the script that can do comparison on ID fields such as an SKU which enables them to do this. Unfortunately it requires access to the feeds that have this information, which isn't readily available through affiliate networks i'm afraid...
Cheers,
David.
Ok thank you
That would be indeed the best thing to do : compare the universal id fields instead of product names which change from one merchant to another
maybe it will be available one day, if so it should not be difficult to adapt Tapestry script...
check out my new sites

My new site compares prices of blu-ray players and accessories at
www.BDsave.com.
Not many merchants yet but I'm saving up to pay for the Linkshare datafeed fee!
As always, much help received from David including tips on making it work for multiple regions via a cookie. I"m sure this is not earth shattering for the technical experts in this forum but I felt pretty pleased with myself for getting it to work as a non-techie!
Kind regards
Alastair
Here's my latest efforts
This one is for adults only. Also, if you're a sensitive soul you might want to avoid taking a look.
It does list adult toys and sexy adult clothing.

I like this script. Very easy to install.
Energy saving appliance and product search powered by price tapestry:
My latest site VirtualDiscountCard.com uses pricetapestry to power the search etc even though its actually a cashback rewards site not a price comparison site.

My another PT site UK Price comparison site. Need more costumization though.
Hi all,
Thought I'd share a couple more sites with you!
This one is 'adults only', as I'm sure you could guess from the title and url!
Nothing too much out of the ordinary with this site but a few mods here and there and I've also played with the RSS feeds to incorporate my affiliate link.
The second one is TeamShirts
This one is a bit 'work in progress' as I'm playing around with the tables and menus a bit to try and improve the categorisation. I also need to sort out the url rewrites but that might be a bit hard for me - need to use loops!
Anyway, see what you think.
Cheers.

This is my new PT site Health Products Price comparison site. More niche to come :)
My Australian Shopping Comparison Site
Another slightly different way of doing things!
This is a small site of only a few pages but the main 'Buy' page pulls in data from my mobilewiz database. The database is queried for the Apple iPhone and as this hasn't been released yet puts up the details of a similar phone. Once the iPhone is out, this will be displayed here.
I should be able tie up the Reviews section too but this will take some more jiggling as I'm not using a 'Product' page as such, the Buy page is a very modified prices.php. I also can't use sitemap.php as this will generate a sitemap containing all the urls from my main database - which I don't want! I'm not sure what the bots will see though but I think I've blocked them from doing the same.
Cheers.
